I've been in Korean for about 2 months now, and in that short time I've eaten some peculiar foods. I thought I'd compile a little list here of the odd things I've consumed.
live, raw octopus (san nock gee)
dead, cooked octopus (nock gee)
octopus tentacles (moonoe)
dried squid
fermented sting ray
chicken feet
chicken anus (it tasted like chicken, only chewier)
silkworm larvae (never again...)
jellyfish
cow intestine
raw fish (not all that strange, I know)
snail soup
No, I haven't eaten man's best friend yet. I don't think I will, even though the dogs used for consumption are raised to be eaten in farms and not as pets in homes. But a dog is a dog, regardless of where it comes from.

I was treated to duck tonight; I had never eaten it previously. How savory and succulent!
Nice description of the duck. So is the traditional food yummy? Do you like squid? Or chewy intestines? I applaud your willingness to dig in and try new things. Have you lost weight? That was the first thing I thought of when I read that list, man he must be so skinny because I can't imagine eating more than a small bite of each....lol.
Do they have American food there at all? Ugh but why would you want American food! haha. But I am sure you miss some of your old favorites. I just showed some kids Supersize me, because I am on a mission to educate people about how horrible fast food is for there poor innocent bodies, and saw with horror the golden arches popping up all over the globe in droves. Do they have one there? Yuck.
I bet you are so much healthier eating all of that unprocessed seafood and atypical vegetables... Yay for your heart! I am too much of a health freak, sorry.
Oh the other thing I wanted to ask was, do you walk everywhere pretty much? That is another great benefit to living in a foreign country. I can't wait to read what else you have been up to!
HAPPY INDEPENDANCE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
